Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961 at Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. Her first competition was at the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in the year 1970. In her 1972 first international meet, which was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. The first female ever to successfully perform the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. She began her career as model skater with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows named Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
